Beer!
Filed in Daily Image, Food
Here’s a Christmas present that we’re still enjoying–we split one bottle most nights. The “winter ales” collection from Cost Plus World Market was a nice set of ten ales with a winter theme, usually involving spices and ginger. As it turns out, we have discovered that we don’t like the bitter afterkick of most ales, but the one we really liked was Powder Hound from Big Sky Brewing Company in Montana.
We also may have found an interesting theme for our travels: visiting independent breweries all over the USA. Now wouldn’t that be a hardship? *grin*

Visiting breweries is one of my favorite parts of traveling! I can highly recommend the Main Street Brewing Company in Cortez, CO; the Standing Stone Brewing Company in Ashland, OR; and the Mt Rushmore Brewing Company in Hill City, SD. Mmmmmm.

I can attest that the Chicago area has some great breweries. And if you are into wine, Michigan (believe it or not) has some amazing wineries.
Come to the midwest!!!
