The world’s in motion
Filed in BlogThe entire world is in motion right now, with the wind blowing at around 15mph (and my poor ears tingling from the cold). We’re back in winter again, something which my friend Amber suggests is normal for this part of the world. It’s definitely a different climate out here.
I’m familiar with the term “March winds and April showers”–she had another variant of that, but the one that I remember is “March comes in like a lamb and leaves like a lion.” I gather that this means that the end of month weather is worse than the start of month, and with rain on the radar I guess that’s going to be true.
Either way, the wasteland meadow near our RV park is full of wild wheat and tall grasses that blow fetchingly in the gusts like a sea of gold. The thousands of flowers that surround the park like a moat have all closed up their blossoms out of sheer protection. Walking in the wind is quite exhilarating, and after a day spent mostly at the computer, the exercise is very welcome.
Speaking of which, I found my pedometer again. A loop of the perimeter is a little over a mile, or 2400 steps. Allegedly you’re supposed to try for 10,000 steps a day and I wonder who has the time to do that. I suppose if I time my loop I might be able to do three loops in an hour, but who during the normal course of a day walks for an hour? I admit to being a little skeptical about it, but we’ll see.
Tomorrow, though, I’m going to bring my hat. ;)
