Wham! Bam!
Filed in BlogWho’d've thunk it–we have amazing disappearing cats with saucer eyes.
We went to bed, thinking that the storm was moving away. Instead, it came back. Bright lightning flashed with just a few seconds before the crash of thunder. There were even a few of those classic horror-movie multi-part thunders, like the sound you hear at the supermarket just before the produce gets doused. And then the storm was right over us, with no delay in the thunder. The heavens opened, with rain and then loud, loud hailstones; the cats, who’d been watching with us in consternation, vanished.
All this drama lasted no more than five minutes, with just a few rapidly melting bits of ice on the ground to convince us it all actually happened. Now, there’s a steady rain, no thunder, and a few patches of light in among the angry-looking clouds. So I’m going to try to get an hour or so of sleep, because I think the storm has worn itself out.
Bedtime for me.
