Turtle Bay
Filed in Blog, Daily Image
Turtle Bay is an arboretum-museum-nature complex in Redding. When I was there in 2001, it was just getting going–the butterfly house and reptile house was open. Now, it’s so big that they rent out bicycles, and it has the famous sundial bridge to which I took Don.
We were both suitably impressed.

Hah. When I read Turtle Bay, I thought you were having some seafood wraps down in Monterey, but I’m silly that way…

I seem to recall that I did :)
We walked over the Sundial bridge–it was the first time I’d seen it–and it was roastingly hot. We were both suitably impressed.

You probably did. It was from the north side, underneath.
Speaking of which, I hear it’s a good ten to twenty degrees cooler down there where I took the picture on hot summer days. I haven’t tested this myself, but have been told by friends I consider trustworthy that it’s so.

Sure. If/when you’re down here, let me know. If I’m down here, we’ll haz some tacos…

Mmm, tacos. :)
I’ve been enjoying your quest for good food. I know just what you mean about incorporating the things you truly enjoy into your life. I enjoy good food–enough to possibly consider a foodie blog one day–the trick is to not break the bank and put on too much weight. ;)
