Thursday Thirteen #8–A total lunar eclipse

Filed in Blog, Thursday Thirteen

Tonight we watched the lunar eclipse. I was taken off guard because I wasn’t expecting it to start until later…I had been checking the Eastern times quoted by NASA. So, the first couple were taken from the parking lot, whereas the rest were taken with a large picnic table as anchor.

Look carefully at the one where it seems to be nothing but a blank square. There really is a moon there…but you’re seeing totality.

Yeah, okay, so that’s fourteen. It looked better on the page. ;)

Thanks for the pictures of the eclipse. Unfortunately in the Seattle area the sky was clear everywhere except where the moon was supposed to be. It was very low in the sky, so we couldn’t have seen it anyway what with all the trees in the way! It looks so cool!

I missed the whole thing. I go to bed early to get up ridiculously early for work. Nice to be able to see pictures of it though!

Hubby took a lot of pictures of the eclipse, but I never even thought of using them for my TT. Very clever idea. Cool. Have a great TT. :)

Super pictures. I did watch the eclipse but your pictures are so much different than mine. Interesting.
Different parts of the country maybe?

That is an awesome collection of the eclipse. We watched because our son called to remind us. It was cool knowing he was watching at the same time.
