Today, the windows will stay closed
Filed in BlogMan, that was a bad idea. You’ll understand that this whole smoke thing is a new experience to me, and so I didn’t realize quite how bad it would be to walk in the stuff. Visibility is now down to a few hundred feet and the air reeks of burning pine. I went out–just a short walk–to take some pictures and stretch my legs, as well as to pick up our shared trash can and return it to the house. I was breathless almost immediately and now I have a headache. The quality of air is absolutely terrible.
We got our laundry done yesterday, and we have lots of food. We’re thinking of making the trip down to Redding anyway to stock up on stuff at non-mountain prices, but from what I’m hearing there’s not much relief from the smoke because the fires are all over the area. But I do know one thing. I’m staying indoors unless I absolutely have to do otherwise.
Whew! Some new experiences are, well, not so much fun.

Ooog. Hope you are feeling better now. The air quality reports on the news tonight were lousy for most of California.

It’s a little better this morning, but veeeeery humid. Luckily we have a/c and will use it accordingly. The smell isn’t as bad today.
