The changes of the seasons
Filed in BlogIt won’t be long now before I’ve been living in the RV for a year. I still don’t miss living in a house. I’d like to live in an RV for a very, very long time. Aside from anything else, there’s much less dusting to do. ;)
When we got down here, it was full summer with sweat-dripping heat and evil humidity. Last night, though, the winds were blowing and this morning for the first time I felt a little chilly as I got out of bed. The seasons are definitely changing, and there is really a Fall here. Even if I didn’t feel that change in my bones, I’d know it from our shopping excursion tonight; Target is full of Hallowe’en goodies, orange and black and gold.
This time last year I probably wouldn’t have noticed it as much, if at all. It would have been another Hallmark holiday, another excuse to make money. But these days I seldom browse round shops any more, so the change is quite sudden from my point of view. I have to say that I like this way better.
I do like the Fall, and I especially like Hallowe’en. But most of all I like the fact that, having lived in a jumped-up caravan for eleven or so months now, I can tell when the seasons are changing without ever walking into a store.

I’ve never thought of living in an RV, but you make it sound almost idyllic.

Well, it’s good. Until the sewer hose spills. Then it’s not so good. ;)
