Thanksgiving for cats
Filed in CatsWhile in Lodi’s wonderful discount pet shop, Don pointed out the “complete Thanksgiving in a can” flavor. Looking at the ingredients, it was truly a complete Thanksgiving dinner–right down to the cranberries. I kid you not!
How could we resist? We even had a spare paper plate.

Given that our cats normally revel in canned food, we were a little surprised when they did not come running at the sound of a can being opened.
JR
JR, in fact, just carried on reclining.

When we “encouraged” him to leave the chair, he simply went and hid behind the litter box.

Eventually, though, he tiptoed up to the plate with his neck extended as far as it would go to take a sniff. And decided that okay, yes, it was Actual Food.

Silver
Again, sniffing from afar, Silver was the next to investigate.

She decided it was edible…

…but then retreated to JR’s side. Scary cat food!

Gracie
Gracie didn’t show up at all. We went and picked her up and put her in front of the food.

I don’t think she took one sniff before she ran away.
We tried again. This time, she ran back up to the bed and glared at us.

Perhaps she was offended by our laughter?
But in the end, you know…there wasn’t much left. ;)

Those funny cats! Maybe it was the festive plate that scared them….Looks like they snuck and ate it in their own sweet time. And your dinner looked really good. I, too have to juggle my holiday meals and plan what pan each item will be cooked in. This year I actually went to the dollar store and bought serving bowls and things for holiday meals. We previously set the pans on the table……

I’ve done pans on the table before, but we mostly just serve to the plates.
Heh, maybe they were scared off by the giant turkeys ;)
