One of Lodi’s less charming aspects is that from sometime in May until sometime in September it is typically as hot as hell out here. The last day or so, we’ve been ramping up for that and the air conditioning is on, on, on!

I spent several hours today doing the taxes. All the forms are filled out in rough. Don’s going to cast an eye over them for those moments when my eyes crossed over. I’m particularly fond of the forms that cross-reference themselves, previous tax returns, and worksheets that are not included as part of the form. Not.

Still, I think I’m about done now.

To cheer myself up I then pulled out all my filing and organization folders, wrote some outstanding checks, removed a bunch of junk from my seat-side basket, and tidied things up a good deal. It actually looks like people instead of accountants live here now.

Harvey is being a poop again. The last time we patched the bath we were hoping that this would be it, but when I got back from a little ride this morning I noticed a lot of dripping going on. Apparently the crack in the bath is back. Don has been busy with his fiberglass kit and hairdryer.

I think, once I get this posted, I’m going to go sit outside and read a magazine or something similarly mindless.
