Stocking up with everything

Filed in Cats, Food, Maintenance

We decided to drive the RV today. It had been over a month since we last went anywhere and we needed to fill it up with gas and propane. So we practiced our breaking camp routine which took about two hours and had us leaving just after dark, and just at rush hour–though I’m not sure I’d call Lodi’s rush hour a rush hour. *grin*

About half a mile down the road there was a protesting wail. A small black and white cat emerged from wherever she’d been hiding and wailed all the way down to the back of the rig where, under the captain’s chair, we later found all three cats crammed into a space roughly the size of a peanut.

Our adventure took us to the gas station (ka-ching!), to Food 4 Less (ka-ching!) and then across the road for a picnic, courtesy of Mondo Burritos. We got the mondito combo which was enough yummy burrito, chips and dip to feed two adults–for $4.99 plus tax. They pressed the tortillas right there in front of you with vast clouds of steam coming out from either side, and we had a feast right there in the parking lot.

Then we went and bought propane from a freezing cold propane vendor at the truck stop (ka-ching!)

With all tanks full again we reattached our hookups and then retreated to a warm rig, secure in the knowledge that our surreal life as mobile travelers could continue.
