Electricity redux

Filed in Blog, Maintenance

The campground manager came round yesterday afternoon as promised, and replaced the molten socket. Everyone has a different theory.

The manager seemed to think it was us running too much stuff inside the rig, but in actual fact we were running less than usual and this is the first time this happened.

Don thinks it might have been a dirty connection–rust, perhaps. :: shrug ::

Me? I think it’s just a one-of-those-thingses.

Anyway, we now have power. I learned that we can have partial power if we plug into the 15 amp socket using our adapter. We don’t have a 50A to 30A converter, or we could use that, too.

We also went down to Lowe’s and picked up a new 30A plug. Don replaced it when we got home, and our neighbor, who has a really annoying little dog that barks at anything that moves until it can no longer see it, wandered by to find out what was going on. Since this neighbor was into electrics and computers, I then didn’t see Don for the next three hours. ;)

I had a nice long reading session and then we split a baked spud.
