Dunsmuir is the gateway to two waterfalls, Mossbrae and Hedge Creek. I tried to get to Mossbrae, but found the heat too exhausting and the path, right by the railroad, a little too scary. But then we went to the other fall, Hedge Creek, and was able to get to that just fine.

We were joined in the parking lot by a group of young travelers, new age types, all colors and piercings and young, happy energy. They were looking for some historic mineral springs, and in the end we hauled out my laptop and let them find their way on the web. Pretty neat. :)
