Fixing the bath
Filed in MaintenanceDon fixed our bath today. I fetched the fiberglass and “goops” (which turned out to epoxy and hardener). It had quite a long crack in it and that is now quietly healing in the bathroom overnight. The gash was about 18″ long.
For reference, should you ever attempt such a repair yourself, the supplies are to be found in the paint department.
I was chatting to a friend today who happened to be in Lodi for a cat show. He and his wife are thinking, in the distant future, of retiring to an RV. I suggested that if he were not a handy man he look for one a bit younger than 17 years old. ;)
He chuckled. I haven’t yet tallied up the repairs we have done on Harvey, but there are just a few. ;)
The nasty stain on our carpet is slowly drying up. We won’t get to shower tonight, but it will dry out and hopefully stay dry from now on. The fiberglass is being stored carefully out of reach of cats and humans, and the debris has been disposed of very carefully.

Epoxy and plumbing… a previous owner of our home had the brilliant idea of flushing some unused epoxy down one of the toilets. The thing barely flushes now. It works just well enough that we can’t see replacing it even though we probably should.
