Department of little jobs

Filed in Blog, Maintenance, People

Seems like Don and I have both been on a fixing things jag today. He got the ladder out and re-sprayed the windows with anti-fog and anti-condensation stuff. I was in the loft at that time so I waved out the window. I grabbed some paper towels and the Simple Green, and took care of some mold. At one stage he was wielding the sealant, so I suspect that something else got a layer of that, too. ;)

More condensation had formed inside our halogen headlamps. He took them out and fixed things to that the condensation could evaporate (apparently, that’s a design defect in these lamps. I took pictures so I guess you’ll be seeing a blog post about that in due course. ;)

He’s not done yet…now he’s changing out a bulb for the reversing light.

While we were doing that, our neighbor wandered by with his dog. She’s definitely a Heinz dog with a little white tip to her tail–so she’s called Tippy. :) He’s from Kansas, a nice guy. Apparently someone was selling two bikes on Craigslist and wrote the number down wrong, so he kept getting all the calls. Don helped him with some ideas to get that sorted, and he thinks it’s done now. :)

Lodi’s spring is like an English summer–warm, pleasant, relaxing. The really painful heat won’t be here until June, maybe July. The mustard is in full bloom and its pungent smell makes my nose tickle. The cherry(?) trees are all blossoming downtown, and we’re planning our next “weekend” escape. I was riding around today thinking how gloriously pretty it is around here.

My life is so much simpler than it used to be and I feel so much better for it.
