Deer deer ;)
Filed in BlogLife is going along here, quietly. We are having a nice long dry snap, which means that this morning I was able to wander down the road to the mailbox. The colors seem muted, somehow, mostly because dry does not necessarily mean sunny. It’s quite overcast, rather cool, but nice to get out and stretch my legs.
Everywhere I look, there’s deer scat. This has been a great season for deer, with many of the does having twins. Go out at dusk, and you’re guaranteed to see dozens of them. Drive out at dusk, and they’ll try to kill themselves under your wheels.
I keep waiting for the novelty of living here to wear off, but it hasn’t.

This time of year, here, is about when they start to go into rut — which means they are even more likely than usual to run out in front of your vehicle.
Be careful, but enjoy watching them!

I’ve lived at my current home for almost 5 years. We have a population of deer here too. The novelty hasn’t worn off yet.
