Clean and dirty

Filed in Campgrounds, Domesticity, Maintenance

While I did the laundry and the dishes today, Don added two new gate valves to the black water system. He had temporarily fixed it by adding a stopper, but this fixes it properly and we will no longer be obnoxious or noxious.

The laundry room here is card operated, and they run energy-efficient front loaders and don’t overcharge. A whole load costs $2.25 which is cheaper than anywhere else I’ve seen.

The campground makes up for its lack of attractiveness (the spaces are way too narrow and there is no shade and next to no greenery: they’re trying to grow trees but the trees are just too little right now) with amenities. The laundry room was spotless and modern. They offer free coffee, high speed internet and newspapers. Oh, and tonight I found out that we can get satellite TV here which is being piped in through a coaxial cable. The trouble is that the listings I saw were from the eastern time zone so Castaway was three hours ago. Oh well.

In other news, Gracie seems to be joining me here at blogging time and snuggling up against my hip. This, apparently, is the equivalent of sitting on my monitor on my desk.
