Camping World and Marysville

Filed in Blog

Then we carried further along to Rocklin, where we found the Camping World. Arriving ten minutes before closing, we whirled dervishly, bought stuff, and forgot the item that had been our main reason for going–a macerator (explanation some time later, if you don’t know what one is already).

We therefore stayed overnight, and found that due to the incorrect implementation of a tire pressure indicator our front right tire had gone flat, while mine remained inflated.

Oh, the irony.

About two hours and a bunch of expenditure later, we set out on the road and went to Marysville, where we rolled into the parking lot at almost exactly the same time as my friend Angela, without actually arranging that. This get-together would have been much harder to arrange without AmberLee–I’ll probably post about the vagaries of communications on the road some other time.

(We also stopped in a little town called Linda, where cheerleaders were trying to get people to go to their car wash, and where we didn’t see a sign with Linda actually on it until after we’d pulled out to leave.)

It was now lunchtime, so Angela and I headed straight to the Brick House Cafe which, as the name suggests, is made from nice old red brick. FYI it has free wireless, too, and great food.

By the time we were done, Angela and I ran a little errand, then she had a knitting group/class to attend and I made a quick pit stop back at the rig for some email and water. Armed with a list of snarfs, I then went landmark-hunting, but that’s another story and I’ll tell that on Raven’s Roads.
