This tire–from a truck, most likely–has been in the street since before Christmas. It is seriously, completely and utterly blown. It serves as a reminder to watch your tire pressure and not take risks.

Trucks also re-tread, which makes them look particularly horrific when they’ve blown. Not that a truck blowing a tire is never anything less than horrific: there’s a reason some motorcyclists call trucks they pass cap guns.

I was riding along one day when a trailer lost an entire wheel…thing just bounced across the freeway. It felt a bit like running the gauntlet.
Actually, I started chatting to Don way back when because the wheel fell off his car…
