On the first of December I went down to the office and to my delight received mail–or perhaps I should say “post.” Incidentally, when I was growing up there were often two deliveries of mail a day, “first post” and “second post.” ;)
In the envelope came a 2008 Scotland calendar and an Advent calendar, which makes me very happy indeed because it means that the Christmas/Yule season can now officially start and all is well.
It was also very exciting to get mail and I can see how RVers might crave a bit of familiarity in the form of letters from home. I probably have a ton of mail stuck in my mailbox in Sunnyvale and haven’t been to collect it for over a month.
Must fix that.

You can go to usps.com ( https://moversguide.usps.com/?referral=USPS ) and set up address forwarding. I think it costs $1 to do it online. Or you can go to your local post office and pick up a yellow form. It probably won’t take care of the huge pile of mail currently stuck in your old box but it will prevent any further build up of mail.

It’s a bit more complicated, alas: I already have a redirect from the old home to my p.o. box. I don’t know if I can re-redirect from the p.o. box to here, and D. isn’t on the private mailbox I have here, so I’d have to be selective. Also, that p.o. box (old home) is my business one, so I might have to do another redirect for that, too.
Until I get a standard p.o. box (there’s a waiting list) for both of us, anything with D’s name can’t be forwarded.
